Posting Etiquette 101

External Articles

Proper posting etiquette requires a few things when posting external articles.

1. You MUST cite where the article came from, and if possible, who the author is.

2. If the post is long do NOT copy and paste it. Either:

a. Write a short summary and link to the original

b. Copy the first paragraph and link to the original

When and entire article is copied and posted to a blog, it causes most people to scroll right past, and never even try to read it. By posting a summary or paragraph, you give readers just enough to get "hooked" which then allows those who are interested to click on the link and read the rest.
